Rock pillar at Acoma, New Mexico, 1886
Photograph of a rock pillar at Acoma, New Mexico, 1886. The tall slender rock pillar stands alone in the surrounding flat landscape upon which vegetation is sparse. The large rock appears to balance on a relatively thin base. Several flat rocks lie nearby with only a bush on the right to decorate the dusty ground.
