| Description |
Rock art site: Rock paintings from the mesolithic times have been reported in the hillocks locally known as "Pandavula Gutta",It was located near Ravulapally ,6 kms from Regonda. It is one of the most important mesolithic rock art site in Telangana,which also contains undisturbed habitation deposites in the vicinity of the painted rock shelters .The paitings of both prehistorical and historical periods are found in this place.A fresco depicting various scens from the epic Mahabharata is found in one of the rock shelter.This is the more important and attractive site. The other figures are depicted in the paintings include the -Stag _Goat -Boar -Deer -Tiger. -Cat. _Bull. -Hunting scences of slags.. -Fish. _Frog. _Lizards. _Goat. -Butterfly. -Dog. -Monkey. The Indhira Gandhi National centre of art in collabaration with the Telangana tourism devolopment corporation and the Kakatiya heritage trust are taking out work to protect the area and to develop it for Eco- tourism. |
