Description

c/n 0201 Built 1995 This R44 has flown around the World twice, both times piloted by Jennifer Murray. The first flight was from 10th May to 8th August 1997 and accompanied by an instructor Murray became the first person to pilot a piston-engined helicopter around the World and the first woman to fly a helicopter around the world. The second flight was from 31st May to 6th September 2000 and on this flight Murray became the first woman to fly a helicopter around the world solo. G-MURY was donated to the Smithsonian Institute by Robinson Helicopters 2004 and is seen on display at the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center as part of the National Air and Space Museum.
