Summary

[edit]
Description

Robin Hood Bay cob cottage, an earth cottage built ca. 1848 as a whalers cottage and later restored. The building is not a typical cob cottage, but rather of a "mud and stud construction", with the walls filled with cob between the heart totara timber studs. The outside is finished with a lime wash.[1] (Heritage New Zealand historic place category 2, list number 1473)

The roof and chimney cladding is modern.
