La Balade pour la Paix, rue Sherbrooke, Montréal, 2017 LOVE est une oeuvre iconique du Pop Art américain. En 1964, les dessins de lettres rouges sur fond bleu et vert d'Indiana servent de modèle pour une carte de souhaits, commandée par le Museum of Modern Art de New York. La première sculpture est créée en 1970. Cet idéogramme est rapidement adopté par le mouvement hippie qui prône l'amour libre. Il est aussi réutilisé dans les mouvements contestataires contre la guerre du Vietnam. Pour Indiana qui, enfant, fut ballotté de ville en ville entre ses parents divorcés, ce mot-logo symbolise un désir profond de retour à ses racines affectives.
