Description
English: View of the statue of Robert Burns that stands at the north entrance to Cass Park in Detroit, Michigan, as seen in December 2020. Erected by the Detroit Burns Club, the statue was designed by sculptor George A. Lawson and dedicated on July 23, 1921. Inspired by the statue that stands in Burns' hometown of Aye, Scotland (also sculpted by Lawson), it depicts its subject gazing cross-armed toward the Masonic Temple across the street, with passages from his works (notably including The Cotter's Saturday Night and Poem to a Mountain Daisy) inscribed on the pedestal.
