Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Robert Burns' House This is not the only house where Burns lived, but this sandstone building on present-day Burns Street (formerly Church Vennel) is where he spent his final four years, after giving up his farm at nearby Ellisland; the house has been preserved as a Robert Burns museum. The poet's signature, now protected, can still be seen here where he scratched it onto a windowpane using a diamond stylus; some regalia associated with Freemasonry is also on show (Burns joined at a lodge in Tarbolton in 1781); and, among other memorabilia, one of Burns' writing desks is on display here.
