English: Exhibit at the Robben Island Museum. The food rations for prisoners at Robben Island were dependent on the their race. The rations given to people of African descent (Bantu) was different to that given to "Asiatics" (people of South Asian descent) and "Coloureds" (people of mixed racial background or from the Cape Malay community). Since imperial units are used throughout, this document dates from, at the latest, the mid 1970's |
