Summary

[edit]
Description
English: roadside spring The spring is along the road to Welsh Bicknor Youth Hostel. A sign warns not to drink the water. Coppett Hill lies at the junction of the limestone[above] and the tintern sandstone[below]. There are several such springs in the area, and used for domestic drinking water until recent times. I met an old lady who earned 6pence a week for bringing buckets of water to my cottage every morning.
