Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Roadside quarry The limestone bedrock has always been a valuable commodity and roadside quarries are common. Here the rock has been exploited by levering-up the individual beds to leave a smooth outcrop. The remnants of angular, broken stones by the road are evidence of crushing and stockpiling as they do not occur in the natural outcrop. My bicycle proved exceptionally valuable on this particular outing due to the short time available for day visits in the ferry timetable.
