Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Roadside quarry A fine roadside quarry, undoubtedly created to provide material building the adjacent road from Denbigh to the Conwy Valley at Pentrefoelas. Although there is little outcrop to be seen, the Denbigh Moors comprise a huge area of Silurian rocks. This quarry appears to be in the Nantglyn Flags, although it offers a much more worthy sandstone at the base of the outcrop (the top of which is being explored by my companion), which is increasingly flaggy and laminated towards the top.
