Summary
[edit]DescriptionRoad to Beecraigs - geograph.org.uk - 1147867.jpg |
English: Road to Beecraigs Behind the overgrown beech hedge, there used to be a shelter belt of Scots pines beyond which was a level strip of grassland before a drop off to the north, The level grass area was the start and finish straight for motorcycle scrambles held there once or twice a year in the 1960s when BSA, Matchless, James and DOT motorcycles would fill the air with roar of their exhausts and the unmistakable aroma of crushed grass mixed with burnt castor oil from the exhausts. |
