Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Road across Puncheston Common The road from Puncheston snakes up the southern slopes of Mynydd Cilciffeth across what was once an expanse of common land where the drovers would leave their animals to graze for an overnight rest stop. Puncheston Common was also the subject of a poem, Ar Weun Cas'mael, written during the second world war, by local poet Waldo Williams, in which he recalls the song of the lark above the dreary moor as signifying hope.
