| Description |
English: Road Works on St Martins Way. This section of St Martins Way, part of the Chester inner ring road, has been a regular candidate for road works in recent years. This section is a flyover, which crosses the Shropshire Union Canal at the Northgate Locks - see 563466. The former lock keeper's cottage can be seen on the left. The photo is taken from the city walls on top of St Martin's Gate, a new breach in the ancient walls that was officially opened on the 22nd April 1966 by Barbara Castle M.P. |
