Summary
[edit]DescriptionRiverside Park covered in snow - geograph.org.uk - 977294.jpg |
English: Riverside Park covered in snow This field is part of the area known as the Riverside Park and geographically it is in Wiltshire. However the land on the other bank of the River Thames (which is on the far left of the picture)together with Lechlade itself are in Gloucestershire. The park is owned by and in the administrative area of the Borough of Swindon, which is a unitary authority. http://www.swindon.gov.uk/leisuresport/parksandgardens/leisure-parksriverside.htm
On the January morning this view was taken, snow was still on the ground but the park is on a flood plain and in the Winter months parts of it are sometimes under water. In the distance can be seen the spire of the parish church of St. Lawrence, which was completed in 1476. |
