Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The original description for this photo provided by Poole Photographic Studios merely says: "Mr T. Barton on Bovril Tins in river". Wish there was more information, as this was surely a big day in Waterford. There are crowds on the Quays at the Adelphi Hotel, crowds on gangplanks, and crowds on boats. Where "Bovril Tins" come into it is anyone's guess. And who was Mr T. Barton?

I searched some Waterford newspapers but could find no mention of this event, so if anyone out there knows what the hell was happening on the River Suir on 8 October 1903, please let us know...
