| Description |
English: River ecology management A farmer who has always lived near this river told me about the varieties of fish which abounded here in his youth. The light-excluding canopy of mature trees has restricted what can grow in the river and is now being removed to improve conditions in the river. This looks unpleasantly bare just now but when the coppiced and pollarded trees sprout new growth it will look better and I'm told it will be better for getting more plants and creatures in the river. Maybe I'll come again next year to show the new growth in a Geograph. |
