Summary
[edit]DescriptionRiver Kent at Beckmickle Ing - geograph.org.uk - 1716128.jpg |
English: River Kent at Beckmickle Ing. Apart from several weirs and a couple of hard rapids, the River Kent between Staveley and Kendal runs at a relaxed grade 2. Kayakers will not be found on the water at the level shown here, however, as this is definitely too low to float. It does enable one to assess the nature of the river bed, though, which is always useful on a reconnaissance walk. Small drops and minor boulder gardens seem to characterise the whole section, but don't get too complacent, as things like 1716054 and 1716013 lie downstream. |
