Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Staines Moor or Staines with Stanwell Moor is grassland of feeble elevation, a typical part of the Colne Valley Regional Park, however with only one watercourse here and valued for pasture since medieval times, with far fewer trees. In planning it has been kept as a natural reminder of the outer West London plain (formerly West Middlesex plain), over its three or more mile length, for many miles to the east which stretched as far as the River Brent and as far north as Northolt, Hillingdon and Uxbridge. Not completely removed from the impact of all of London's demands, one of the M25 variable speed limit gantries is just in the background and Heathrow is just to the north-east however it is otherwise agricultural as it has been for over 1000 years.
