Summary

[edit]
Description
English: River Boat at Brayford Pool, Lincoln One of the cruisers/charter boats heading off up the old Roman Canal/Fossdyke Navigation, from Brayford Pool. Built by the Romans, the Fossdyke has a claim to be Britain's oldest canal. It flows through almost entirely rural scenery for 11 miles from the River Trent to Lincoln, where it links with the River Witham and onwards to the Wash at Boston. The Brayford Pool is a natural widening of the River Witham and was used as a port by the Romans.
