Summary
[edit]DescriptionRiver Blyth from North Blyth - geograph.org.uk - 1452850.jpg |
English: River Blyth from North Blyth. The curved wooden structure in the near part of the river is the remains of the staithes on which a railway ran to load ships with coal in the deep part of the river 1452113. They were originally much taller http://erniesphotos.fotopic.net/p35966821.html
The river here has been a harbour for a long time, parts coming into use and then decaying with changing trade. The blue warehouse to the right is part of the new harbour development of Battleship Wharf 277412. |
