| Description |
English: Risk of Small Explosions! The Gunpowder House is now used as a Gents' Toilet.
The sign reads: "The Gunpowder House. PUBLIC TOILETS. This was the original "Powder House", where Gunpowder was stored for use in the Mine. The powder was kept in a secure stone shed within the compound, constructed with double walls to ensure any accidental blast was contained, and, it is believed, there was no roof - leaving any such possible blast directed upwards - and out of harms way. It is still the same structure today, containing any such blasts during current usage!" |
