Summary
[edit]DescriptionRio Dell CA Eagle Prairie Bridge.jpg |
English: Eagle Prairie Bridge is the entire California State Route 283; defined as from U.S. Route 101 south of Rio Dell to the north end of the Eel River Bridge and Overhead (built 1941) in Rio Dell, California. Eagle Prairie Bridge connects Scotia and Rio Dell, California and is California's shortest state route. In 1977 it was named for Albert Stanwood Murphy (b. 1892-?) the president of Pacific Lumber Company who helped the Save-the-Redwoods League to preserve redwood park land. In 1990 the bridge was renamed "Eagle Prairie Bridge" at the 25th anniversary of the incorporation of the city of Rio Dell and the 50th anniversary of the bridge's construction. |
