Description
Deutsch: An den LNBs von Satellitenempfangsanlagen sind meist Rillenhornstrahler angebracht.
English: A low noise block downconverter (LNB), a device mounted on the front of a satellite dish which receives the microwave signal collected by the dish and transmits it into the house to the television set over a coaxial cable. The Ku-band microwave signal is funneled into a waveguide by the corrugated horn antenna visible on the front and converted to a radio frequency electric current. Then it is converted to a lower frequency by a local oscillator and mixer, and is output to a cable attached to one of the connectors on the right. The plastic shield (left) fits over the horn to prevent rain or snow from entering.
