Deutsch: Riedstadt, Stadtteil Erfelden, ehemalige Synagoge in der Neugasse 43. Das ehemalige Backhaus aus dem Jahr 1869 wurde 1875 von der damaligen Jüdischen Gemeinde Erfelden erworben und zur Synagoge umgebaut. Vor 1938 erfolgte wegen der damaligen politischen Lage ein Notverkauf des Hauses an den damaligen Nachbarn. Danach wurde das Gebäude als Wohnhaus genutzt, bis 1989 in vierjähriger Bauzeit eine Rekonstruktion und Restaurierung erfolgte, die mit dem Hessischen Denkmalschutzpreis gewürdigt wurde. Von der Originalausstattung haben lediglich die drei farbigen und bleiverglasten Rundfenster an der Ostseite des Hauses die Zeit überstanden, weil sie 1938 auf dem Dachboden des Nachbarhauses eingelagert wurden und über 50 Jahre in Vergessenheit geraten waren. |
