English: Ridge and Furrow Ploughing The ridge and furrow ploughing is clearly visible in front of the tree. The land was ploughed like this in earlier times to improve drainage, but I'm told that in some areas this distinctive feature is being ploughed flat again by powerful modern machinery. |
