Deutsch: Der Solfelsen befindet sich in 775 Metern höhe nördlich von Bad Säckingen, nahe dem kleinen Weiler Jungholz bei Rickenbach. Beim Solfelsen – manchmal auch Pelzkappenstein genannt - handelt es sich um ein seit 1950 registriertes Naturdenkmal. Der mit einer Höhe von 5.4 Metern und einer Masse von 230 Tonnen frei liegende Stein ist kein eiszeitlicher Findling, sondern entstand durch einen lange anhaltenden Verwitterungsvorgang. Der Granitblock ist durch Verwitterung, die immer an den Klüften ansetzt, nahezu rundlich verwittert, was ihn so einzigartig macht. Als im Jahr 1895 hier ein Steinbruch entstehen sollte, kaufte die Säckinger Ortsgruppe des Schwarzwaldverein das 44 rund Ar große Areal um das heutige Naturdenkmal, um es vor der Zerstörung zu retten. Das Gestein des Solfelsen besteht aus Albtal-Granit, in dem Einschlüsse von Gneis und Andalusit-Hornfels enthalten sind. |
