| Description |
English: This.58-caliber carbine was manufactured at the Richmond Armory in 1863. Virginia seized the equipment used for making Model 1855 Rifle Muskets at Harpers Ferry when she seceeded from the Union in 1861. The Model 1855 patterns account for the hump shape of the lockplate. |
