| Description |
English: Richmond Bounces The usual line to paddle Richmond Falls is off the left of this photo, but in high water like this, the recirculating stopper makes this rather dangerous. In low water you can land on the rocky promontory in the middle of the photo to pick a line, but that was not an option on this day. Pete Ball had intended to paddle off that rock, heading into the deep plunge pool to the left of the photo, but avoiding the stopper. The perils of not being able to inspect the line from close quarters became obvious when Pete came over the edge in the wrong place and bounced down rather ignominiously as seen here. He rolled up at the bottom and came to no harm, but we do not recommend this line ! |
