Kommentarer iøvrigt: -EJB nov. 1997: Tegningen har indtil dato figureret under Richard Cosway. I Weigels auktionskatalog, op.cit. sælges den imidlertid som M. Cosway, og dette sammenholdt med Stephen Lloyds ovenfor citerede anfægtelse af Richard Cosways forfatterskab til tegningen fører til en forsøgsvis tilskrivning til Richards kone, Maria Cosway. -Maria Cosways fødeår sættes almindeligvis til 1759, men iflg. Stephen Lloyd: Richard & Maria Cosway, Regency Artists of Taste and Fashion, Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh 1995, p. 41 er fødeåret snarere 1760. -Portrættet minder i store træk om J. Condés kobberstukne portræt efter R. Cosway af Master Horace Beckford, 1797, men er ikke identisk; stillingen er næsten den samme, tøjet ligeså, men der er ikke tale om nogen kopi efter stikket. Stikket gengivet i George C. Williamson: Richard Cosway R.A., London 1905, overfor p. 34 -Proveniens-bestemmelsen via oberst Krag skyldes Jens Heinet Knudsen nov. 1997.
