Notes WW1 medal ribbon bar with British War Medal and Victory Medal ribbons; belonged to 15360 Rflm Wilfred James Glynn, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, WW1 Labourer Wilfred James Glynn, of Otahuhu enlisted as a Private on 5-4-1916. He signed up with the 2nd Battalion 3rd New Zealand Rifle Brigade. Following training at Trentham and Featherston he left New Zealand with the 15th Reinforcements on 19 July 1916, disembarking in the UK on at Sling Camp in September that year. He was in the field from mid-October 1916 through March 1917, returning to the UK (Walton, Hornchurch, Codford, Brockton, etc) where he remained until January 1918 when he returned to New Zealand aboard the ss Arawa. (information from paybook) CHECK - The Cenotaph Record has Glynn embarking on 29 July with the 9th Reinforcements 1st Battalion E Company (NZRB)
