Notes NZEF Masonic Medal (Jewel) ribbon, France 1917 Belonged to Lt. Col. PC Fenwick, New Zealand Medical Corps, NZEF. The NZEF Masonic Association was founded in France in 1917 by Cpl. George Barclay and was active in both France and England, with a membership of approximately 1500. A second smaller NZEF Masonic organisation was formed in Egypt and Palestine. This was created by Brig. General William Meldrum, Officer Commanding the New Zealand Mounted Division.
