Title
Ribble Valley, Lancs.: Weight
Description
English: Very worn cu-alloy coin weight, possibly with the crowned (?) inscription 'C.R.' (or 'E.R.') on the obverse. The reverse is too worn to tell.

If it is 'E.R.' it could be the abbreviation for 'Elisabeth Regina' and thus date to the early 17th century or late 16th (1558-1603). However, it seems more likely that it is a coin weight from the reign of Charles I (1625-49), C.R. being the abbreviation for 'Carolus Rex'.
