Summary

[edit]
Description

The basalt pillars Reynisdrangar near the village Vík í Mýrdal in the south of Iceland.

Legend holds it that some Trolls once caught a sailing ship. When they began to drag it to the shore, dawn broke and the Trolls together with the ship were turned into stone.

Nowadays, these rocks also play a role in a more modern legend, namely in Season 7 of Game of Thrones.

I also find it interesting that, on the line straight to the south, there is no more land between this point and Antarctica, only about 15000 kilometers of Atlantic Ocean.
