Transcripción de la ficha:

"Este retrato debió formar parte de la galería familiar, junto con el de don Fernando de Mier y Terán, padre de doña Francisca, firmado por Ignacio Berbeno (Museo Nacional del Virreinate). La cartela detalla la genealogía de la joven y nienciona su profesión en el Convento concepcionista de San José de Gracia, motivo de la realización del cuadro y timbre de honor para esta familia de Jerez de la Frontera. Su traje está compuesto por casaca, saya, peto y sobrefalda (elemento poco común en los retratos novohispanos), y completado con chiqueador de carey o de terciopelo negro, hilos de perlas en las muñecas, así como abanico y pañuelo que eran instrumentos del lenguaje corporal femenino, y que aqui señalan el recato propio de esta futura esposa de Cristo."
