Description
Nederlands: Stenen sokkel met houten retabel waar in het midden plaats is voor het tabernakel met daarboven ruimte voor het calvariekruis. Bij plechtigheden met verering van Heilig sacrament werd hier de monstrans opgesteld. Retabel en tabernakel voeren iconografie die verwijst naar de eucharistie. Het tabernakel draagt het Lam Gods. De rechterzijde van het retabel voert een oudtestamentische episode op, namelijk de ontmoeting tussen de aartsvader Abraham en de hogepriester Melchisedek (Genesis 14:18-20). Hier offert Melchisedek brood en wijn wat wordt verbonden met het (latere) offer van Christus. De linkerzijde geeft het Laatste Avondmaal weer. Onderaan het retabel zijn druivenranken afgebeeld wat verwijst naar de rijke gaven van de eucharistie. Het neogotische houten retabel werd in 1900 gemaakt door Benoit Van Uytvanck (1857-1927) voor de kerk Heilige Familie van Boven-Lo.
