Summary

[edit]
Description

People’s House of Ankara was trying to help the residents of Ankara on certain issues. During the 1930s, coffee houses used to host film screenings due to lack of movie theatres. They used to show movies not only in the city but also in the countryside. They were visiting the residential areas surrounding the city.

Ballıkpınar [literally, Fish Spring] is a village 12 kilometres away from the district of Gölbaşı. The photograph shows that the young members of People’s House paid a visit to the village with their 16mm film projector.

Ballıkpınar köyü sakinleri, film gösterisi, 1930’lu yıllar.

Ballıkpınar, Gölbaşı’na 12 kilometre uzaklıkta bir köy. Köyün oluşumu 19. yüzyılın ortalarına dayanıyor. Kırım’dan ayrılan bazı Tatar aileler, Romanya’ya giderler. Oradan da Osmanlı devletine sığınırlar. Devlet, ailelerden bazılarını Ankara civarına yerleştirir. Sonraki yıllarda köye başka aileler de gelir. Köyün sakinleri, tarımla, hayvancılıkla uğraşan, çalışkan insanlardır. Civar köylere yardımcı olurlar, bilgiyi paylaşırlar. Cumhuriyet’in örnek köyüdür.
