Description
English:

Horizontal, black and white photograph showing the Republican convention hall, known as the "Wigwam", located on the grounds of City Hall at 12th Street and Clark Street. A large crowd is gathered around all sides of the building. A variety of flags and banners are flying from the roof. City Hall can be seen in the background.

The Republican National Convention was held on June 16-18, 1896. During the convention, William McKinley was nominated for president, and Garret A. Hobart was nominated for vice-president.
