[edit]DescriptionRepublic of Korea Ambassador for Peace Medal presentation (46855205855).jpg | Little Rock, Ark. - (L-R) Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, U.S. Rep. French Hill, Republic of Korea Ambassador Cho Yoon-je and U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton observe a moment of silence at a wreath laying just prior to the ambassador presenteing Republic of Korea Ambassador for Peace Medals May 3, 2019, at Little Rock’s MacArthur Museum of Arkansas History to Jim Stoud, Judge Andre McNiel, Charles Casey, Floyd Smith, Joseph Dickerson, Dr. Lumas Kendrick and Wayne Marsh. The Republic of Korea Ambassador for Peace Medal is a commemorative medal that expresses appreciation from the South Korean government to American service men and women who served in the Korean War, June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. The medals are made by a Korean steelmaker and are forged by melting down old barbed wire fences that have been replaced along the demilitarized zone that separates North and South Korea. |
