Description
Deutsch: Republic RF-84F Thunderflash (BD - 246), USAF s/n 53-7670 (?), Waffenschule 50 (WS 50) Fürstenfeldbruck, am 10. Mai 1959 in Giebelstadt. Bereits am 7. Juli 1959 wurden die RF-84F der WS 50 von dem in Erding neu aufgestellten Aufklärungsgeschwader AG 51 'Immelmann' übernommen. Das Emblem "Fliegender roter Teufel mit Kamera" (Siehe Seitenleitwerk) wurde zunächst beibehalten, das Kennzeichen wechselte von BD-246 zu EA-246. Bei angenommener Serial s/n 53-7670 entsammt diese RF-84F dem 57 Flugzeuge umfassenden letzten Fertigungsblock RF-84F-46-RE (s/n 53-7641 bis 53-7697) der Republic Aviation Company, Farmingdale, Long Island, New York. Insgesamt wurden von 1953 bis 1956 716 taktische Aufklärer RF-84F produziert.
English: Republic RF-84F Thunderflash (BD - 246), USAF s/n 53-7670 (?), Weapons School 50 (WS 50) Fürstenfeldbruck, on May 10, 1959 in Giebelstadt. As early as July 7, 1959, the RF-84Fs of WS 50 were taken over by the newly established Reconnaissance Wing (AG) 51 'Immelmann' at Erding. The emblem "Flying red devil with camera" (see vertical stabilizer) was initially retained, the identification number changed from BD-246 to EA-246. With assumed [USAF] serial 53-7670, this RF-84F came from the last production block of 57 aircraft, RF-84F-46-RE (s/n 53-7641 to 53-7697) of the Republic Aviation Company, Farmingdale, Long Island, New York. A total of 716 RF-84F tactical reconnaissance aircraft were produced from 1953 to 1956.
