English: Painted in a graded scheme reminiscent of that worn during her time in the U.S. Navy during World War II, the Repubilc of China Navy oiler Omei (AO-301) lies moored to a buoy at Sasebo, Japan, on 1 July 1951. Omei was the former U.S. Navy fleet oiler USS Maumee (AO-2) which was transferred to the Republic of China on 5 November 1946. She served until 1967. The photo was taken from the U.S. Navy escort carrier USS Sicily (CVE-118). |
