Politieke allegorie waarin Don Juan door de Dood te paard met een pijl doorschoten wordt. Linksvoor kruipt de hertog van Alva geketend over de grond gelijk Nebukadnezar. Rechts schrijft de hand van God woorden op de muur. Op de grond een stapel lichamen van eerder in de strijd gestorven Spanjaarden, links kijkt een groep staande figuren, waaronder Egmond en Horne, toe. Op de achtergrond het standbeeld van Alva uit de Citadel van Antwerpen. Met opschriften en bijbelteksten in de voorstelling het Nederlands en Frans, met onderschrift van 4 verzen van 4 regels in het Nederlands en Frans.
