Every student receiving aid wasrequired to do a definite amount of work, and this year this isrequired of every student in the Syrian boarding department,whether helped or not, the amount of work varying from threeto fourteen hours per week. While the best plan is to go slowlyand to make the self-help department efficient, there are certainlyreasons for the development of industrial training.
