Description
English: The 'Wright Flyer' made the first sustained flight by manned, heavier than air powered and controlled air craft on 17th December, 1903 invented and flown by Orville and Wilber Wright. It marked the beginning of pioneering era of aviation. The full-scale replica of 'Wright Flyer' was installed in Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum(VITM), Bengaluru, India on Dec 16,2003 to commemorate the centenary of this historic event. VITM was opened to public on July 14, 1962 by then Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
