English: Image shows a replica Spitfire MkII fighter aircraft at sunrise beneath the Great West Door of St Paul's Cathedral in London.
In the 70th Anniversary year of the Battle of Britain and the London Blitz, The Lord Mayor and Aldermen of the City of London host veterans and serving members of the Royal Air Force to a memorial service in St Paul's Cathedral and reception in the Guildhall. With His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent as the guest of honour taking the salute, a march past following the service of veterans and the Queen's Colour Squadron was overflown by a Dakota, Lancaster and Spitfire of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The following reception held at the Guildhall hosted some 1600 guests who were addressed by the Lord Mayor of London, Nicholas Anstee and Air Marshal Philip Sturley (President of the Royal Air Force Association).
