Description
Español: Patricio Ibarra Cifuentes escribe: Coronado por los laureles de las victorias navales, el presidente de Chile Aníbal Pinto, premunido de una gran tijera y sobre un piso, precisa hasta donde estima se anexará durante la campaña terrestre próxima a comenzar. Le observan los mandatarios Mariano Ignacio Prado del Perú, Hilarión Daza de Bolivia y Nicolás Avellaneda de Argentina. Ante los planes del chileno el primero le dice que no le quedará territorio alguno, pues Pinto comienza a cortar desde Lima hacia el sur. Por su parte el jefe boliviano reclama ante la intención de apropiarse también de Tacna y el argentino le advierte no hacer lo propio con su Patagonia, cuyo territorio aun mantenía en disputa con Chile.
