| Description |
English: Repairs to Lock No 50, Trent and Mersey Canal, Alsager, Cheshire. There are still a few lock chambers needing renovation on "Heartbreak Hill", the 31 locks between Middlewich and Hardings Wood. Eventually all the twin locks still in situ will be in operation, allowing simultaneous passage of narrowboats up and down the canal. The locks here alter the water level by 9 ft 6 in (2.9 metres). |
