Description
English: Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Ray Mabus presents a plaque to Air Force Capt. Dana Lyon during a vessel renaming ceremony for the Air Force Motor Vessel Capt. David I. Lyon. Dana Lyon is the ship’s sponsor and wife of the ship’s namesake, Air Force Capt. David Lyon. David Lyon, assigned to the 21st Logistics Readiness Squadron, died Dec. 27, 2013 in Kabul, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his convoy. Lyon was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Purple Heart and the Air Force Combat Action Medal.
