| Description |
English: Remnant of Thor Missile Launch Pad at Polebrook A concrete trackway for the missile storage building extended along one axis of the launch pad, see other views in this grid square. On the other axis were concrete bunds and other features associated with the rocket fuelling systems of which the above view shows a part. The missiles were propelled by liquid fuel, a mixture of liquid oxygen and kerosene, sufficient to carry the 65ft long missile up to 1700 miles. |
