English: Stamped on verso: Portland, Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition. Handwritten on verso: Building and Grounds - Remington Statue.Filed in: Box 1/14 A reproduction of Frederic Remington's sculpture "Coming Through the Rye" was constructed for the exposition. Renamed "Hitting the Trail," it shows four wild cowboys coming into town for a spirited celebration. The Lewis and Clark Exposition was hosted by the city of Portland from June 1 to October 15, 1905. Covering over 400 acres, the fair showcased exhibits from various nations and states, and it promoted the economic potential of the Pacific Northwest region.
